ATRIUM is a collective housing project located in the historic center of Viana do Castelo.
The goal was to construct in harmony with the urban fabric of old lines while incorporating modern elements present in the cladding choices and brickwork, which bring dynamism to the facades, reminiscent of traditional Portuguese cities.
Metal flower boxes were placed on the balconies with the purpose of recreating the typical window flower boxes, bringing the green theme to the facades. The window frames are made of wood painted in the same tone as the railings and the metal sheets covering the openings, creating a negative effect that emphasizes the rhythm and verticality.
The ground floor is dedicated to commercial spaces and is covered in vertical wooden slats with a significant amount of glazing, allowing for a direct relationship between the building and the street.
