Casa Vilarinha aimed to create a single dwelling that would integrate with the surrounding vegetation, a densely woven area characteristic of the city of Porto.
The project sought to establish a relationship between the city and the house in order to enhance different moments with privileged views of a unique urban landscape.
The house is situated within an urban fabric with more rural characteristics. By drawing a transversal axis, in front of the residence, there is a garden rich in oak and pine trees so that all openings of the house lead to a green element.
For this construction, we chose to use natural materials to create a symbiosis between the house and its surroundings, utilizing the plasticity of concrete with the lightness of the yellow tone, which, combined with the warm hue of the wooden cladding, generates a natural contrast. All of this is complemented by the walnut interiors and the rich grain of the stone chosen for the indoor flooring.
The result was a distinctive and timeless construction, in harmony with its environment, without neglecting the architectural design of the forms and its functionality.
