Empreendimento Fraião consists of six rowhouses, each with three floors, following the course of the street, situated on a rocky slope in Braga.
One of the goals was to take advantage of the views of the city, so a courtyard was created at the front of the plot. In order to provide privacy to the social area, a base was designed along the entire length of the street, also creating the illusion that the houses had only two floors.
The recreational space achieves harmony between the concrete structure of the bedrooms, extending perpendicular to the length of the lower floor, with the social program of the middle floor, and the density of the ground floor, unifying the whole.
The upper floor forms a porch in the outdoor space next to the glassed-in living room and kitchen, allowing enjoyment of the garden and the city-view pool. This space connects to the base of the houses through two iron pillars that open in a "V" shape.
For these houses, low-maintenance but highly durable materials were used, resulting in a contrast between the gray tone of the exposed concrete and the earthy tones of slate and corten steel combined in the lower floors.
